Spangles

A Retro Favourite! What Happened To Them?

Spangles was a brand of boiled sweets, manufactured by Mars Ltd in the United Kingdom from 1950 to the early eighties. They were bought in a paper tube with individual sweets cellophane wrapped. They were easily recognised by their original shape, a square sweet with rounded edges and a circular depression on each face!

Spangles contained a variety of fruit flavoured sweets. The flavours included were: strawberry, blackcurrant, orange, pineapple, lemon and lime.

Spangles were discontinued in the early eighties but made a comeback in 1994 but unfortunately are not manufactured today.

As far as we know there are no plans to reintroduce Spangles, but why not sign upto our newsletter, that is just below, so we can notify you if anything changes!
